Selling very nice GETZEN CANADIAN BRASS MODEL with Blackburn Louisville 19-350 leadpipe and rounded tuning slide . These are raw brass parts . Rest of the horn is silver plated. Serial range #106xxxx. Also comes with original GETZEN 5c mouthpiece so you can start playing right away. As we all know Canadian Brass was a famous brass ensemble adapting also seemed impossible to play on brass instruments pieces like for example “Four Seasons” by Vivaldi. They made it possible. This is the GETZEN CANADIAN BRASS model inspired by their work and skill.
Bore of the horn is ML. Horn plays very compact with a nice tone all round the ranges. I would describe slotting as pretty close so this horn is def great for jazz and lead playing . This horn features large 5” bell flare and 2 amado water keys on tuning and 3rd slide convenient during performances. Horn is in overall great shape with conversion very cleanly done . There is a minor shallow wear spot to brass in contact point on the back of 1st casing towards 2nd casing right below leadpipe. There are few minor knicks in the bell flare and bell pipe / scratches from normal play. I don’t see repairs and I don’t consider conversion as a repair as it is a customization of the horn . Please notice rounded tuning slide which makes the airflow less restricted. Valves are smooth and fast and high quality expected for GETZEN valves. Please note that on last photo the darker spot on the 1st piston is the old oil which went into the plating it’s not the wear . Valves are smooth and have great compression. Actually the valve section looks just like Mr Monette was using on his early Monettes and top screws look identical and I’m sure GETZEN Valve section considered being the best met his high quality standards before he started making his own. It’s a very good player high quality USA MADE HORN Don’t miss out.
