    Description

    Rouse Linotype printing lead slug cutter very nice used condition. From the Mid 1940s, this H. B. Rouse slug cutter was use in the printing industry to cut lead slugs to size for the old letterpress printing presses. I found this in the California gold country, possibly used at one of the many newspapers or printers that popped up during the gold rush era that stayed in business into the next century. It shows normal signs of use such small scrapes and scratches, stains and minor oxidation. I have only wiped off the dust and loose grime and left the original patina. Measures 6.5" x 4.5" x 7".
