A sharp, controversial, and ultimately groundbreaking play, about a group of gay men whose gathering for a birthday party is interrupted by an unexpected guest. The play opened off-Broadway on April 14, 1968, at New York's Theater Four, where it ran for 1000 performances. Basis for two film adaptations-one in 1970, and one in 2020.
