Johnson & Johnson started out producting a line of ready to use surgical dressings in 1885.  The company produced its first products in 1886 and was incorporated in 1887.  Over the years Johnson & Johnson embarked on an agressive growth pattern becoming the major fortune 500 American multinational medical devices, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods manufacture it is today!
The dispenser is approximately 1 1/2" in diameter x 3 3/8" tall.  It is glass with a metal top.
