Dated 1863, Civil War Era Invoice for Dental work done on Dr. George Ker’s patient, L. B. Nottingham by Dentist Dr. James H. Parker of Onancock, Virginia. Evidently, Dr. George Ker of Eastville Virginia referred his patient to the dentist.Leonard B. Nottingham was a merchant in Eastville, Virginia and took a sworn deposition that several of his neighbors were not enlisted in the Confederate Army.
Dr. George Ker, son of Dr. John Ker lived in Eastville at the family home Cessford on Courthouse Rd. Cessford was taken over by Union General Henry H. Lockwood during the Civil War and used as his headquarters.
