1914 MARSHALL FIELD & COMPANY DOLL CATALOG –  KRINGLE SOCIETY DOLLS - Including Dolls’ Costumes, Tableware, Furniture, and Jewelry
foreword by Evelyn Coleman, Hobby House Press, Maryland, 1980.
”The dolls are listed in this catalog under the name Kringle Society and even a few dolls are named Kingle Tots.  But actually the products of at least a dozen companies are recognizable.  These include the American Schoenhut all-wooden dolls and circus toys…the bisques character heads of Gebruder Heubach…half-bisque small dolls with molded upper torsos made by Hertwig in Germany…the dolls produced by Louis Amberg of New York…the metal doll heads made by Vischer in Germany and the Handwerck dolls…No doubt in 1914 many of the ‘Handwerck’ dolls were produced by the affiliated Kammer & Reinhardt and had bisque heads made by Simon and Halbig.  Geo. Borgfeldt & Co. of New York produced Kewpies…In the catalog there are a considerable number of dolls known to collectors as ‘Googlies.’”  Also pictured and described are doll accessories, toy tableware, toy furniture and furniture sets, and more.  Each picture has a caption noting the original catalog number, a terse description, dimensions, and original wholesale price.
