Learn the history of Rose Percy, a doll that was dressed and accessorized by young ladies of one of the finest finishing schools in New York City for the purpose of raffling her at the Metropolitan Sanitary Fair of 1864. (The Sanitary Fair was a forerunner of the American Red Cross.) The clothing made by the students is absolutely exquisite (many full color photos of the clothing included) and accessories donated to the girls from businesses such as Tiffany and Co. are outstanding.
